Controversial author Jackie Phamotse recently returned to court for sentencing after losing her case against former Miss South Africa Basetsana and her businessman husband Romeo Kumalo.
The author is known for her contribution to her book series Bare, which details the experiences she had during the time she was with a blesser. In these books, she talks about many people within the industry and powerful politicians that she engaged with while at these ‘sex parties’.
In what seemed to be a six-year legal battle with the Kumalos, Jackie has been found guilty on charges that she defamed the couple after tweets she made in 2018 which alluded that Romeo had sexual encounters with other men and also questioned his sexuality.
According to Eye Witness News, a probation officer who wrote a report on what she thought would be an acceptable sentence for Jackie, asked that she offer a public apology and pay a fine for her defaming words against the couple.
Public broadcaster and communications strategist by the username @luphumlongcayisa on X (formerly Twitter) was pictured leaving the court hearing with Basetsana. The court hearing is set to resume on the 5th of March.

The above-mentioned publication states that the author is not remorseful for her actions while internet users say that she needs to be punished for what she did.
An X user commented:
People hide behind the keyboard and say things they wouldn’t say in person. They do not even think about the consequences of their malicious actions until it’s unpleasant for them. So I guess it’s true when they say everyone is a hero behind the keyboard.

It is time that people making false accusations be jailed! Yes, she knowingly destroyed the lives of other people. Despicable
