Multi-award-winning gospel sensation Dr Rebecca Malope recently sent out motivation for people to explore all their given talents, stating that it’s never too late to learn a new skill.
The gospel singer, who is also a television show host, is popular for wearing elegant garments both on and off the red carpet.
Previously teased for finding herself crawling on the floor when her spirit took over while performing, Dr Rebecca will not be teased for mopping the floor with other designers’ clothes as she has started making her own clothes.
Taking time to inspire her thousands of followers not to give up on their dreams, the singer shared:
“Don’t give up, it’s not too late to learn something new. Look at me, I learnt how to make my gown. Now I’m not buying clothes anymore. I sit down and make them.”
“This dress took me how long, maybe it took me about two days,” said the singer pointing to a dress she was wearing. “I was passionate, I wanted to see if I could come out with something like this.”
Detailing what the dress is made of, she said: “I mixed two fabrics, this [pointing to the bottom part of the dress with a fluffy material], and this metallic fabric.”
Motivating others to push themselves, she commented: “You can do something else for yourself as well.”
Known for always being a preacher, Dr Rebecca added:
“You can explore your talents; God gave us talents to explore them. Don’t sit on your talent. It’s so sad to see a talent die untapped.”
She continued that people should search within themselves for all their given talents as there might be many, and then unleash them one by one.
She finished off by saying:
“You know me as a singer, now I make clothes. Pick them one by one and make use of them. A smart person does that.”
