After sharing a recording of his Instagram Live with American rap mogul Rick Ross, Nasty C returned to the app to publicly express his gratitude.
Rick is said to be creating an album featuring a few African artists, which also includes Nasty C himself, to shine a spotlight on the continent’s talent, a project that has sparked mixed opinions.
During their conversation, the two named their top African artists and producers, with Rick also noting a few international artists, Nasty C (whose real name is Nsikayesizwe Ngcobo) wishes to collaborate with in the future.

In a separate video posted on Instagram, the Hell Naw hitmaker stated that he was sharing the video to practise displaying his gratitude publicly, as he is not one to do so often.
“I get a lot of these crazy moments which are very rare. Most of the time, I don’t really show you guys how excited I am, so it looks like I’m downplaying the whole thing. When I’m with my people, I celebrate,” said Nasty C about his conversation with Rick.
“I wanted to send a message to Rick Ross. Yo bro, thank you. You are an icon, a legend, you already know that; everyone knows that. You have been given a talent and you’re sharing that with everyone. So, thank you. Not just what you’re doing for me but for everyone else.”
Nasty C continued, “I honestly would have been happy with what I’ve already got which was meeting you in Zim [Zimbabwe] and getting a picture with you. As someone who grew up watching you on TV, that alone made me very happy. It went so much further than that – you know my name, you know my music, and you celebrate me the way you do.”
The father of one then stated the importance of showing gratitude, saying, “There’s a lot of bullsh*t going on, on the internet, people are not shy to post dumb sh*t. When it comes to some real sh*t like giving someone their flowers, people are hesitant to do that for some reason. So, I just wanted to do something different … and show you guys how grateful I am. I don’t take these moments for granted at all.”
