Popular club deejay and businessman Ashley Raphala, famously known as DJ Shimza had a flight scare recently on his way from Paris coming back home to Johannesburg.
This revelation by the deejay comes just three months after industry mate Black Coffee suffered a terrifying flight crash that nearly took his life, leaving him with damages in parts of his spine that also affected his neck.
Black Coffee had to wear a neck brace while getting the best medical team for the injuries sustained from his flight accident.
Shimza’s flight scare news was reported by MojaLove’s publication ZiMoja who added that the deejay’s flight encountered a problem with its engine in the cruise phase just an hour 30 minutes after taking off from Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris.
Speaking to the publication the Darling hitmaker and founder of Kunye, a project that aims to promote the local music scene by connecting South Africa’s known and unknown artists with international artists, shared:
“I’m really not scared of such things, I believe in technology and the fact that if God decides, there’s nothing I can do. I was not panicking at all.”
The publication adds that Shimza who is set to host his much-anticipated Kunye festival shared that he his worry was about the concert while going through the ordeal.
“It was chaotic inside the aircraft, but my concern was the people who bought tickets and booked their tables, other than that, I knew there was nothing I could do,” commented Shimza.
