Celebrity painter Lebani Thaka Sirenje, famously known as Rasta’s work always causes a social media frenzy whenever showcased, with many suggesting that he should go for an eye test.
The Zimbabwean-born painter’s recent artwork has many internet users joking that he needs to be arrested for his consistent butchery of people’s faces whenever he paints them, with some adding that he might be a comedian painter who does not stand in front of a crowd to tell joke but uses the funny pictures he creates as comedy.
His latest artwork is a painting of media personality and mother of one Minnie Dlamini which he handed to her at The Showmax Roast of Minnie comedy special, which was held at the Sandton Convention Centre recently.
Rasta rose to mainstream fame when he started painting celebrities who have passed on, handing the paintings to their families at funerals.
Sharing the painting with her followers, Minnie posted a picture of herself and Rasta posing with the painting and captioned it:
“You know you’ve made it when @officialrastatheartist paints you AND you’re still alive. Getting my flowers while I still live and breathe.”

Internet users and Minnie’s industry had a field day, with many guessing who the person painted looked like.
“Darling I like this one but when is he showing the one with you in it?, asked Carol Bouwer.
“How did you know its you? Or he told?,” asked another user.
One user shared, “He needs to be arrested, yeyi ngithi yeyi we Rasta (you Rasta).”
“This is @simzngema or @ayandancwane.”
Other’s felt that Rasta was part of the roasting panel but did it his own way commenting, “It was the ROAST … Rasta roasted with a brush and paint. Assignment delivered.”
