The time has come when pageantry lovers and those looking to make a difference within South Africa are now officially able to apply to participate in this year’s annual Miss South Africa pageantry competition.
This year the entry requirements are very much the same as in previous year, however, those who found themselves being finalists last year will not be able to reapply until at least next year (2025).
According to a statement released by Miss SA there is no height limit, married women and those with children are also allowed to apply as long as you are between the ages of 20 and 30 during the year of your reign.
In addition to this, the finalists will also be allowed to face real-life Miss South Africa scenarios when making their appearance on the much-loved reality show Crown Chasers.
The highly popular show follows the lives of Miss SA hopefuls as they share their journey to the live grand finale.

Someone who has all the experience of what it means to walk this journey is reigning Miss South Africa Natasha Joubert.
After entering the competition on two attempts, it appeared that the second time was the charm.
Sharing her advice with future hopefuls on what it means to be part of Crown Chasers, she said:
“Expect something totally out of your comfort zone and be prepared for something different each week. If you’re not challenged during this process, then something is wrong.”
“You need to be open to knowing that there are going to be lows and highs and that you are going to go back to your room and feel that perhaps you are not ready to be Miss South Africa. But that’s when you know that you are growing and that you are pushing yourself. In the end, I promise you that you will know more about yourself.”

She added: “As someone who has entered the pageant twice, the most important factor is to know yourself well, both emotionally and mentally. An entrant must know their strong suit and what their weaknesses are, and examine how they respond to pressure, negativity or confrontation.”
The applications for the pageant opened on Thursday 2 May and will be closing on Wednesday, 8th May at 18h00.
How to enter:
Those looking to enter can do so by filming a video introducing themselves and post onto social media along with the tag #MissSA2024, tagging Miss South Africa and Crown Chasers on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Twitter.
