Actress Omuhle Gela has withdrawn from the upcoming season 11 of Tropika Island Of Treasure.
The Uzalo star cited conflicting schedules for her brisk departure from the production. While issuing an official statement, Omuhle said she asked the show to recast her after much consideration and discussions with her management.
“… it has become apparent that my involvement in a new upcoming television series will conflict with the shooting schedule of Tropika Island Of Treasure,” she noted.
Her statement comes shortly after announcing she would be returning to television screens following a year-long break, and that it was in her best interest to prioritise a longer acting contract.
Omuhle thanked the show’s producers and fans for their support and encouragement.

The adventure reality TV show revealed a star-studded list of contestants earlier this year.
Former Miss South Africa Ndavi Nokeri, actor Hungani Ndlovu, dancer Chad Jones and singer Bobby van Jaarsveld were announced as the competitors vying for season 11’s R1-million prize.
Now that Omuhle is out of the picture, fans have been sharing their suggestions of who should replace her.
Entertainment commentator Phil Mphela’s top choices were Big Brother Titans winner Khosi Twala or former Big Brother contestant Yolanda Monyai Mukondeleli.
This year the show promises to push the boundaries while the castaways compete against each other for the ultimate cash prize.
Radio and TV personality Zanele Potelwa will be hosting season 11, titled Island Warrior, which also happens to be the show’s milestone 40th birthday.
