Singer Vusi Nova speaks of having paid the R170k upfront fee to event organisers after missing his performance at the Cherry Festival.
As per reports by ZiMoja, the singer was booked at the two-day annual event where he was paid his fee, but his failure to attend caused event organisers to become upset as they had already paid his upfront fee.
The annual festival which celebrates the cherry harvest in Ficksburg booked Vusi alongside Sipho Hostix Mabuse, Master KG, Semito, Prince Kaybee, Star Chalale, Blackmok Jazz Band, Mamicky, Senqu Jazz Band, Botala ba Linare, Khaya, DJ Finzo, and many others.
Speaking to ZiMoja on his failure to attend the event the singer said that he was involved in a minor accident on his way to Free State from Eastern Cape which caused him not to make it to the event on time. He also stated that he refunded the event organisers the upfront fee of R170k that was paid to him.
Although the singer clarified the situation it seems that the event organisers still want their money which he claims was paid and the fee outstanding is what the promoters charged.
“I am very professional. I always make sure I show up on time. Anyone who has booked me knows this. Sometimes things happen that make us deviate from our plans, but we try to resolve matters, One thing about me is I never change and I always show up! So, they can take it to court, but they know. I spoke to the organisers and informed them; that they were coming for the wrong person,” said Vusi to the above-mentioned source.
