South African actress and director Gugu Gumede shared how she lost 20kgs in three months.
This star is famously known for her role in SABC 1’s TV soapie Uzalo where she plays Mamlambo. She recently shared on her YouTube channel her journey.
Her video was captioned,” I had a weight loss surgery, here is my honest opinion.”
Opening the video, she shared the reason behind her not being invested in social media, she explained that she just did not want to let people into her space. Gugu claimed that in 2024 though, those are the little things she would like to change, she wants to open up more.
The actress stated that whilst she was keeping to herself, she had gained a lot of weight because she stopped breastfeeding, “No one told me that if you stop, you are at risk to gain a ton of weight, I gained 15kgs and that made me unhappy.”
She mentioned that with her busy schedule, she would come home and spend time with her daughter, “I was not having enough time to exercise when I wanted to, so I set up a home gym which helped me a great deal.”
“I did see a drop in my weight, but it was not much, so I knew I needed more help. After a lot of research, I decided to get the gastric sleeve to help me with portion control,” she said.
Gugu said that she is happy that she got the surgery done, she mentioned it was a tough journey at the beginning, but she is no longer finding it difficult.
