Since his introduction into the music industry, Zakhele Madida popularly known as Zakes Bantwini has taken the South African music industry by storm.
Over the years, the 43-year-old has produced several powerhouse hits and knows just how to get people’s bodies moving with songs like Osama, Mama Thula and many more.
In addition to that, he has also joined several South African music giants such as Black Coffee, Miriam Makeba, Lebo Morake and many others. He also became a Grammy Award-winning artist in 2023.
The success of his music is a testament to the number of years and time spent on perfecting his craft, which now resonates with thousands of South Africans.
This year Zakes will be marking yet another monumental milestone, as it marks the twentieth year that he has been in the music and entertainment industry. The artist has big plans to celebrate the occasion with his fanbase.
Taking to social media, he shared that he will be hosting a celebration concert in his home province of KwaZulu–Natal.
“This one is special for me, it has been twenty years of an incredible journey and I can’t wait to share this beautiful milestone with you in my hometown – Durban.”

The event, themed “20th Anniversary in Music – A milestone celebration of Music,” is set to take place on Friday 5th July at the Durban ICC.
Here South Africans can look forward to seeing many of their beloved performers which include the likes of Mi Casa, Kelvin Momo, Young Stunna, Major League DJZ, Sjava, and most importantly, the man of the moment Zakes Bantwini.
