Those born in the early 90’s and before that may still remember Selimathunzi presenter Dosto Noge, as his charm and character stole many television viewer’s hearts.
The media personality who refused to called a celebrity visited David Mashabela on his popular podcast/channel the King David Studio.
While some of those who were famous around the legend’s era have sadly left this earth, with others consumed by drugs, Dosto is one of those who has kept a good, clean image, making sure to live his life out of the glitz and glam.
Speaking to the broadcaster, Dosto who was a fan of the isiXhosa and isiZulu game show Ngomgqibelo Ka Mokibelo told David that he asked his dad to take him for auditions after coming across an audition advert for the popular show.
This happened while Dosto was in his second year of his teaching diploma. Needless to say, he went to the auditions and a few months later, he got the presenting gig.
As someone who was born in Potchefstroom and spent his years between Potch, Kroonstaad and Mahikeng, Dosto told David that he has always had a close relationship with his cousins until now.
The presenter also detailed that he was intentional about living his life out of the lime light, choosing to keep the same friends, living the same way he did before fame. Dosto added that Joburg for him was a place of employment as he drove back home after shooting, to resume his normal life.
“I had a hectic life and a stable family that I went back to. One thing God helped me with was to focus, do your job and go home. Do not do anything else stupid,” the former presenter noted.
He added, “I was coming to Joburg to record what I have to record and drive back home. I found comfort driving back home and going to spend time with my cousins in Sebokeng than staying with buddies here.”
Speaking about his celebrity title he shared, “I refused to be viewed as a celebrity, I happened to have had a short stint on TV and that’s it.”
