DJ Tira and his Afrotainment record label have warned that a scammer is trying to use their event at this year’s Durban July to con people.
The racing event is set to take place on July 6, at the Hollywoodbets Greyville Racecourse. Afrotainment took to social media to share an alert that was brought to their attention.
The post reads “ATTENTION: It has come to our attention that an individual by the name of ‘Bandile’ is falsely representing himself as an employee of Afrotainment.
“He is using the phone numbers +21 81 871 7051 and is approaching individuals, claiming he can secure jobs at the Afrotainment Marquee in exchange for their 6-month bank statements.
“Please be informed that Bandile is not associated with Afrotainment in any capacity. We strongly advise against sharing bank statements or personal information with him, as this is a scam.
“Thank you for your attention to the matter.”
