Amapiano rapper Lethabo Sebetso, popularly known as Focalistic, left quite the impression when he rocked up in all red at the 2024 BET Awards.
The artist was among many local musicians nominated for the Best International Act. The award was won by international music sensation Tyla, and Makhadzi won the Viewer’s Choice: Best New International Act award.
Focalistic’s red suit, tailored by fashion designer Tshepo Mashego, featured embroidery of his Amapiano nickname, ‘President Ya Straata’ on the inside. This was a reference to his 2021 album, which included collaborations with DJ Maphorisa, Mellow & Sleazy, and Kabaza De Small. While some users on X (previously known as Twitter) criticised his look, others on Instagram thought he pulled it off.
Controversial blogger Musa Khawula posted what the rapper wore at the BET Awards causing a lot of users to weigh in on the rapper’s outfit choice.
