Following the passing of his father on Christmas day 8 years ago, Robbie Malinga Jr. has thrown all the credit towards his mother Ann for doing all she could, as he adjusted to the life of being raised by a single mother.
Junior’s father, the legendary musician Robbie Malinga died in 2017 after being diagnosed with anemia a year prior. At the time Robbie Jr. was only in grade 10 and still had lots to learn about becoming a man.
Now, at 23 years old he says that he would not be the man he is today if it were not for his mother.
In a recent interview with entertainment publication SowetanLive, the Born into Fame reality star shared more about the role that Ann played in the absence of his dad.
“I was in grade 10 and I had to navigate life without him. I then reached matric, and he was not there… he wasn’t there to see me get that far in my schooling.
“Fortunately, I managed to get there with the support of my mother – she has been my rock through it all,” he said.
He further added: “My mother helped build me into the man I am today. She’s actually the head of the house. She hustles for my sister and me. She makes sure things are still running smoothly when it comes to providing for us.”
Robbie who just like his father has a passion for the music industry, explained that after the passing of his dad, his mom has done a stellar job seeing that the love inside of their home remained the same.
Aside from his role in the reality show, Born into Fame, Robbie is also a rapper and goes by the name Rob Mally.
