The Karoo Art Hotel should be on every traveller’s bucket list. This recently refurbished 1885 Karoo heirloom in the heart of Barrydale is an art lover’s delight and an ideal base to explore the charming town and its surroundings.
It’s safe to say that the decor is always stunning. Each room is entirely unique and centred around art and history and the hotel also features an exquisite dining room and restaurant, a bar and a cinema, to name a few things.
n addition to being a sensational place to stay, it features a rolling exhibition space for local and regional artists to showcase their works.
Speaking of showcasing, Stormers coach John Dobson and radio host John Maytham are set to take over the hotel for an unforgettable weekend of artistic and cultural delights at The Five Arts Weekend.
Taking place from 5 to 7 July, The Six Arts Weekend will be split across six main events spanning the art of food, sport, music and theatre.
Enjoy a show and afterparty at the Belanti, peddle your way through Barrydale with stops at its most scenic farms, master the art of ageing steak, get into the grit of it with an expert rugby panel and end off with a much-needed hangover breakfast masterclass.
