Swaziland King Mswati III is reportedly in lobola (dowry) negotiations with the Zuma elders after the former president’s 21-year-old Nomcebo Zuma stole the king’s heart.
The king already has 15 wives and if all goes well with Nomcebo’s negotiations, she will be number 16.
Local publication Sunday World reported that a delegation led by King Misizulu’s spokesperson, Prince Simphiwe Zulu was sent by the Swaziland king to his soon to-be bride’s family. It is further said that during the lobola negotiations, the delegates did not see eye to eye with Msholozi, leading to him storming out of the negotiations
“I’ve never seen uNxamalala losing it like that. He tried to hide it, but you could tell that he was angry. He just stood up and said seniyosala niqhubeka bafana bakithi (you’ll have to carry on without me my brothers). He then left, leaving all of us shocked,” revealed an insider who did not want to be mentioned.
The insider also shared that Msholozi’s anger was also fuelled by the fact that King Mswati III was taking her daughter, as he wasn’t aware he was talking about himself when he shared intentions to marry in the family.
News Editor Zweli Martin Dlamini from Swaziland told the local publication that the king’s wives were also not happy with his decision as they thought he wouldn’t add any more wives.
The news editor who spoke to one of the king’s wives added that they were unhappy “as he is failing to take good care of the ones (wives) he already has.”
According to Zweli, Nomcebo who spends most of her time in Swaziland is currently in the country as she is undergoing preparations to be unveiled as the king’s new liphovela during the reed dance.
“Liphovela is an official girlfriend of the king, who is about to be married and join the royal family, and Nomcebo is expected to be introduced to the nation during the annual reed dance in August,” added Zweli.
