It seems like the storm is far from over as internet users resorted to starting an online petition which seeks the removal of one of the finalists, Chidimma Vanessa Onwe Adetshina from participating in Miss South Africa beauty pageant.
This is after online users found out that she was born in South Africa to a Nigerian father and South African mother with Mozambican roots.
Shortly after the reveal of finalists competing for the crown, online users posed questions to the Miss SA Organisation about Chidimma and her Nigerian heritage. The organisation explained that she qualifies as a contestant because she is a South African citizen with a valid South African ID.
Be that as it may, online users still wish to see Chidimma disqualified from the pageant, so much that they decided to form an online petition which requires signatures from all those who are against Chidimma competing in Miss SA.
One user said: “South Africans don’t play games neh, now signing the petition.”

Petition signed, even In her name there is nothing that says she’s a South African, yet she wants to represent South Africans.

Recently, Chidimma took to her Instagram story to write about the commotion on the socials: “It’s really sad that my parents are unable to be happy and celebrate my wins because of all the noise. I really hope one day we live in a world where we can be united as one and allow each other to thrive,” she penned.
