‘They got a grocery store!’ X users blast Tiffany Haddish’s ignorance while visiting a supermarket in Zimbabwe

The level of amazement when Americans visit any place in Africa never ceases to disappoint. It’s probably even a little sad when they realise we too have first-world commodities such as cars, cinemas and supermarkets.

US actress Tiffany Haddish recently visited a store in Harare, Zimbabwe, and had to share her excitement. “Look at this grocery store, it’s huge,” she said while walking around the aisles. “It’s humungous.”

Online users were quick to put Haddish in her place, with an X user (formerly Twitter) asking: “Damn where do these people think we live.”

Another responded to the comment and wrote: “I was thinking the same thing as I kept listening to her…like honestly.”

Not impressed with the level of astonishment coming from Haddish, fans had to remind her that Africans are not “riding donkeys, still hunting and gathering.”

Others defended the Girls Trip star, saying she was trying to dispel the stereotypes about the continent.

The actress found herself on the other side of the law late last year when she was arrested in Beverly Hills for suspected DUI.

That same night, she performed at the Laugh Factory’s Thanksgiving dinner, ABC News reported.

In February this year, she visited Israel because she “wanted to see with my own eyes” and planned to meet with the families of the October 7 hostages.
