Radio personality and businesswoman Anele Mdoda speaks on wanting actress Vatiswa Ndara back on our screens after being blacklisted by the industry.
Vatiswa, famously known for her roles in Home Affairs, iGazi, Muvhango and even Generations has left the industry and is finding a hard time coming back despite her impeccable discography.
As per reports by entertainment publication, ZiMoja, the most-loved actress has been trying to make a return to acting but due to her being blacklisted after being deemed ‘difficult to work with’ by industry heads due to an unlikely event that took place in 2019 when she was not getting along with executive producers Connie and her late husband Shona Ferguson regarding treatment on set.
The above-mentioned source states that this later made Vatiswa write a letter to the Minister of Sports, Arts & Culture Nathi Mthethwas where she stated her grievances with the production company. In the letter, she said that her speaking out caused her to receive humiliation leading to her not being cast on any TV show again.
Despite, Vatiswa being on an unexpected hiatus internet users felt that they still needed more of her on their screens causing Anele to respond to posts saying that she tried getting her back but the actress refused.
She left the industry. I called her and begged last year. She said not a chance. I won’t give up though. That woman is talent. https://t.co/Sqp7IioTrs

The level of gatekeeping in the acting industry is crazy but we need her back on TV. Even if it be on Netflix or Showmax projects

She’s talented I wish she can be brought back on Muvhango since they are reviving the show, but at the same time we should wait for her until she’s ready.

Eish, the Unfiltered book by Vatiswa Ndara tells it all. She is emptying herself there and I am sure her supporters will have a clear answer once they read the book. The last I checked it was available on Amazon but I know she’s planning to have it printed.
