Siya Kolisi sparks style icon rumours with visit to the Magugu house

Siya Kolisi is a prominent figure in South Africa, mostly known for his skills on the rugby field, as well as his historic achievement of being named the first black player to captain a Springboks team. To reinvent himself outside of the field, the captain has shown interest in the world of fashion.

As an Adidas athlete, Siya is often seen sporting the brand, however, he recently visited the Magugu House, which is a renowned South African luxury fashion brand, popular for its intricate pieces inspired by local culture and heritage. He was also spotted wearing the brand’s Xhosa Lobola heritage shirt, which is part of the Heritage III collection.

The designer took to his Instagram to share the rugby star as he donned the luxurious and stylish shirt. “Our national treasure Siya Kolisi (@siyakolisi) visits Magugu House, seen here wearing the Xhosa Lobola Heritage Shirt,” the caption read.

It comes as no surprise that our captain would support Thebe Magugu as a local designer and brand, as Siya prides himself in all things local and lekker. The Magugu House was recently named on the Times’ list of  ‘World’s greatest places’ which is an accomplishment not to be downplayed, as not many places in the country or the continent get that privilege.

It is not the first time the captain has dabbled in the waters of fashion, as he recently partnered with local brand RelevanceForMen, which specialises in tailored suits for men.
