South African Music legends Ihashi Elimhlophe and Linah Ngcobo marked a remarkable milestone of 40 years of marriage.
Over the decades, they have built a legacy, with their children also stepping into the limelight and making a name for themselves.
According to The Citizen, the couple renewed their vows in an intimate ceremony surrounded by family and friends, singing each other’s praises and dancing together. The celebration was even more special as Linah, also celebrated her 60th birthday on the same day.
“We were renewing our vows and it was also her birthday. I can’t remember how long we’ve been together, but it’s more than 40 years,” he told the publication.

This year, Ihashi Elimhlophe celebrated 45 years in the music industry and was set to headline the Standard Bank Joy of Jazz. Reflecting on his journey, he shared with The Citizen, “Respecting myself, my job, and those who I work with has made me get this far.”
In addition, August was a special month for the Ngcobo family. Linah received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Basadi in Music Awards, a fitting tribute to her contributions to the music and acting industry. Her daughter Vusiwe took to Instagram to celebrate her mother’s achievement.
