South African media personality Lerato Kganyago, recently found herself at the centre of an insensitive online attack when a troll mocked her past miscarriages.
The incident began when a social media user @cobra4rce took to X (formerly Twitter) to make a hurtful comment about Lerato’s struggles with miscarriages, a deeply personal and painful part of her life by saying, “Dumela (Hello)ms carriage,”.
In response to the troll’s comment, Lerato didn’t resort to anger or insults. Instead, she replied with a simple yet powerful statement: ” LOL I hope you feel good after this. I would be very upset if you didn’t.”
According to SowetanLive, back in 2021, Lerato had shared on Instagram that she was pregnant but tragically lost her baby, marking her fourth miscarriage.
Earlier this year, in February, she announced on her Instagram story that she faced heartbreak once more when she suffered her fifth miscarriage.

Taking to the comments, fans and followers were behind Lerato, expressing sympathy and support. Many responded with broken heart emojis. Some users fiercely defended her, bashing the troll’s ghost account for the insensitive comment.
One X user said:
This is definitely a ghost account of someone very close to u, who really hates you, u need to check spiritually what is really happening. Miscarriage ngiyayibona why are you receiving so much hate after such a painful experience, aren’t people meant to be empathetic towards u.

💔💔💔. Hey Lerato, don’t respond to these types of messages, no matter how hurtful or angry they might make you, by replying you are giving them power
