We are always warned about eating just about anything and take it for granted, until food poisoning strikes and you wonder where it comes from. Well, the chances of it coming from what you just ate are extremely high.
According to the Mayo Clinic, “Food poisoning, a type of foodborne illness, is a sickness people get from something they ate or drank. The causes are germs or other harmful things in the food or beverage.”
The above clinic also mentions the following symptoms of food poisoning, “stomach, diarrhoea and vomiting”. Further, it adds that these symptoms usually start within hours or several days of eating the food.

According to the health-focused publication, Healthline, poultry, including chicken, duck, and turkey that is raw or undercooked, poses a significant risk of food poisoning.
“This is mainly due to two types of bacteria, Campylobacter and Salmonella, which are commonly found in the guts and feathers of these birds,” the health hub adds.
The above publication also claims, “Fish that has not been stored at the correct temperature has a high risk of being contaminated with histamine, a toxin produced by bacteria in fish.”
Furthermore, WebMD says, “Eating tainted raw oysters can give you vibriosis, which causes diarrhoea, vomiting, fever, and chills.”
The health source above also says that raw milk from animals that haven’t been pasteurized—heated—to eliminate bacteria can result in vomiting, and diarrhoea that lasts for days and even severe illnesses like Guillain-Barré syndrome, which can lead to paralysis.
