Sindi Majola, a name that once dominated South African television screens and the entertainment industry, has recently been spotted in the dangerous streets of Yeoville, Johannesburg. Sindi, known for her roles in iconic TV series like Zone 14, Jacob’s Cross, Backstage and Tsotsi opened up about her early success.
In a recent video posted on X (formally known as Twitter) by @Am_Blujay, a woman approaches Sindi curious about her past saying, “I heard you were a celebrity what happened?” Sindi, visibly emotional, begins to recount how her life took off at a young age. Sindi opened up about her past, reflecting on the highs and lows of her journey to fame and fortune. The former actor shared how she had everything most people dreamt of from a young age. “I had everything from 22. I had my car, my apartments, my businesses, and everything. But I was not happy,” she confesses in the video.
Sindi further revealed that at the height of her career, she was earning an impressive R52 000 in just two weeks. Despite her financial success, she explains that it didn’t bring her the happiness or peace she desired. “I was earning R52 000 in two weeks. And I said, God, take it all; I want to be like everybody.”
“They killed my family because of my money,” she says, her voice filled with pain.
