Brenda Ngxoli, a beloved figure in South African entertainment, has proudly announced her tenth nomination for the South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs), in the category of Best Supporting Actress in a Feature Film.
Taking to Instagram, she expressed her gratitude and excitement, stating, “This is Officially my 10th Nomination… I would like to Congratulate my Fellow Nominees. Can’t believe that I’m Nominated with those whose Talent I’ve Admired way before I even thought I wanted to be an Actress myself. Oh Thixo Waze wandithwala. Ndiyabulela Nkosi yam . Ndiyabulela my Beautiful South Africa for standing beside me as I treaded the Fires of Life with a New Born in Hand. Because of you, I Managed to Never Lose hope.”
Brenda will be going head-to-head with industry veterans like Jennifer Steyn from The Fragile King and June van Merch from Hans Steek die Rubicon Oor for the coveted award.
According to Daily Sun, Brenda reflected on the importance of this nomination after some time away from the spotlight, sharing, “The nomination means a lot to me as it gives me hope that I am still part of the acting industry.”

SowetanLIVE reports that in 2020, Brenda got emotional when she won a SAFTA at the virtual awards ceremony. She shared, “I have been in the industry for more than 15 years now. When I started, I was barely 20 years old[..]I’m sitting at about 9 nominations—which meant that I had worked extremely hard for something. So to go and then come back and get not only a nomination but a win, was absolutely amazing for me.”
