After a recent health scare that shocked mzansi internet users, Deputy President Paul Mashatile seems to be in better spirits after he addressed the public at a Heritage Day event held recently.
As per reports by news publication, TimesLIVE, the deputy president collapsed during a keynote speech at the N’wamitwa Day celebrations in Limpopo.
Speaking on the recent ordeal, he told the news publication, “Something strange happened on Thursday when I was in Cape Town. We had a cabinet subcommittee meeting on Wednesday. When I got home on Thursday morning, I was sick. I felt like I had food poisoning or something. I came back home, and even on the plane I didn’t eat.”
Entertainment publication, Zimoja, also mentioned that since the collapse Paul has been doing better, adding that, he recently addressed the Heritage Day celebration, Free State.
The above-mentioned source reported that he stood in for the president and addressed the crowd regarding the uses of technology to improve weather conditions, “In celebrating our heritage, we must be alive to the impact of climate change on not only our wellbeing but also on our culture. Extreme weather conditions such as those witnessed over the past few days affect some of our cultural and heritage sites, therefore undermining our national goals to protect and preserve our culture for generations to come.”
Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter) he shared posts at the Heritage Day Keynote Address.
