TV personality and rapper Boitumelo Thulo, popularly known as Boity, stunned at the Paris Fashion Week for the debut of the Maxhonaissance.
Established in 2011 by owner Laduma Ngoxokolo, the brand gained massive popularity with many celebrities and fashion faves showcasing his work. MaXhosa has also been worn by former First Lady Michelle Obama and Sarah Jakes Roberts during her tour to South Africa.
Maxhosa hub states that this brand came about as Laduma wanted to create outfits for Xhosa initiation homecoming traditional ceremonies.
“As a person who has undergone the process, Laduma felt that he had to develop premium knitwear that celebrates traditional Xhosa aesthetics,” says the above-mentioned hub.
The international brand showcased its latest collection at an event where the presenter was one of the models on the runway.
Speaking on his latest collection, Laduma told OkMzansi, “This collection is a testament to our efforts of redefining and reimagining the bounds of African fashion. We always try to highlight new and different narratives of African cultures and break down the boundaries between Africa and the rest of the world.”
Taking to Instagram, Jen Su shared posts of the collection with Boity there, “MAXHOSA AFRICA SS25 PFW Paris Fashion Week, American Church of Paris.”
