‘So I must take 10 years to sell out Peter Mokaba, but you give Chris Brown two hours?’ Makhadzi calls SAns out

The announcement of American superstar Chris Brown’s show which is set to take place in South Africa has caused quite a stir in the country, including controversy surrounding the multiple abuse allegations against him. Our very own artists, Makhadzi, born Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona, is among the few artists that have spoken out about feeling under-appreciated by their countrymen.

Following Chris Brown selling the FNB Stadium out in two hours, many individuals and organisations have voiced their dissatisfaction with such a controversial artist being given a platform in our country. Makhadzi on the other hand, is more concerned about the lack of support shown by South Africans towards her as a local artist.

Taking to her X (formerly Twitter), Makhadzi called South Africans out, questioning why it must take her almost two years to fill up Peter Mokaba Stadium, with a capacity of 46 000, whereas it takes Chris Brown a mere two hours to fill the FNB Stadium up with a capacity of 94,736.

While some internet users have responded negatively, stating that Makhadzi should not be comparing herself to a superstar such as Chris Brown, other users have been reassuring Makhadzi of her greatness, encouraging her to keep her head down and stay in her lane, eventually, everything will fall into place.

Furthermore, other users have reiterated Makhadzi’s point, questioning why most local artists struggle to fill up even the smallest arenas.
