Referring to Tyla as a global artist just might be an understatement at this point, as the young star has seemingly garnered fans from every inch of this earth’s crust.
Among her fans, is the mother of one of the trailblazers of supermodels, Tyra Banks and the model has set her sights on arranging a meet-up between the two.
One of the many accurate ways to describe Tyla would be ‘booked and busy’ as the ‘Water’ hit-maker is set to release her new single ‘Push to Start’ this week and will be releasing a deluxe edition of her debut album Tyla, which includes the new single. This comes shortly after she wrapped up international shows in Japan and Brazil.
Tyla was also announced as the musical headliner for this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, which, unlike the rest of the world.
Tyra’s mom only recently found out about it. Upon finding out about the news, Carolyn London-Johnson sent a message to her supermodel daughter, letting her know that she is Tyla’s number one, expressing how she enjoys the South African songstress’s dance moves in particular. Carolyn also noted Tyla’s humility which is not a sentiment shared by many Americans.
“I am her number 1 fan! I have all her music in my playlist and I love how she moves and dances. She is also very humble and sweet,” the text read.

Tyra and her mother are now on a mission to track Tyla down as her response read “OMG! SO cute mama! Let’s track her down at the show so you can meet her. Start practising your water dance.” Tyla also seems to be on board with the plan as she responded to the post by saying “Omg yes I love you, mama.”
This sweet, heartfelt moment is a reflection of the range of Tyla’s fanbase, as she has managed to capture the youngest audience and the older generations as well. She has been able to do so by remaining authentic to herself at all times, despite backlash and of course, the haters.
