The faces behind South African fashion design brought to you by the L’Oréal Paris’ Walk Your Worth

Popular cosmetics brand L’Oréal Paris recently took South Africa, more specifically Cape Town by storm as they hosted their highly anticipated ‘Walk your worth’ fashion show in Franschhoek. The one-of-a-kind display aimed at shining a light on a handful of mzansi’s most coveted fashion designers most elegantly and entertainingly possible.

If you haven’t heard about the event already, I’m sorry to be the one to break it to you but you probably live under a rock as social media is currently buzzing as users recall their once-in-a-lifetime experience at La Paris Estate in Franschhoek. L’Oréal is a brand well-known for its love of beautiful things and this event was a true reflection of that, from the majestic mountainous views to the creative set-up and decor that accentuated the location’s natural beauty. Finally, the guests showing up dressed for the nines added the final touch that was needed to give the event a stamp of perfection.

After hosting one of the most star-studded and most anticipated dinners this year, the brand then treated the public to a fashion show whose main aim was to celebrate and give recognition to some of the most coveted fashion designers in the country, many who are often overlooked due working behind the scene of the main show. This time, however, L’Oréal said these are the people to celebrate loudly and proudly, and that is what the A-Listers who were present did.

Inspired by their international Le Défilé L’Oréal Paris runway show, the brand showcased the latest collections of Rich Mnisi, Tshepo Jeans, Manstho by Palesa Mokubung,  KLûK CGDT by Malcolm and Christiaan and SELFI by Celeste Lee Arendse. Adding an even more interesting and fun element, some of our industry’s most notable figures graced the runaway as models for these designers, which secured some applause of approval and excitement from the crowd. Furthermore, artists such as Nolwazi and Craig Lucas formed part of the day’s entertainment and added to the overall ambience.

Here is a quick glimpse of some of the breathtaking looks from each collection.
