Gig guide: Where to party, laugh, and unwind this December

With the festive season upon us, what better way to celebrate than by having fun outdoors partying all night long?

Get ready for a lineup of December’s hottest groove spots, rejuvenating gospel shows, captivating live performances, fun picnics and comedy shows that will have you rolling on the floor with laughter.

  1. Kiddies Colour Picnic

This family fun day will take place on the 21st of December from 10 am till 6 pm. You can enjoy a variety of activities and performances throughout the day such as colour powder, live performances, face painting, jumping castles, water slides, swimming pools, outdoor games and prizes.

This family gathering will be at KwaMashandu’s Kitchen, Estcourt, with tickets available from Web tickets ranging from R32.50 to R92.50.

2. KVS- Called to be

If you are looking to praise and worship and you are in Cape Town, this one is for you. The debut concert is brought to you by KVS, a dynamic gospel group from the Cape Flats.

The concert will happen at Missio Dei Auditorium in Bellville on the 21st of December at 7 pm, with tickets ranging between R100 and R150.

3. Hunters Paradise Beach Club- UShaka Beach

Are you looking to party days on end? This event will allow you to enjoy the ultimate lifestyle of beachside luxury. From enjoying musical sets from the best DJs to indulging in tasteful food while sipping on refreshing beverages and soaking in the sun on the beach.

The event will happen from the 23rd of December to the 1st of January 2025, at UShaka Beach in Durban. Tickets are from R150 to R2000. From 11am until late.

4. Opulent Christmas Picnic and Movie Night

Expect a fun-filled day with nice music for a picnic. On this day there will be Jumping Castles and a separate area for Foam Party set for kids. If attending, you are advised to bring along your picnic basket, pillows, blankets and cooler boxes. The picnic will start at 12 pm, and the movie will start just before 7 pm on the Lush Lawn, National Botanical Gardens in Bloemfontein.

5. My New Debit Order- Wild Coast Sun

Carvin H Goldstone to hold a one-man show named My New Debit Order, this is inspired by the stand-up comedian’s story of his third child with his wife that he recently welcomed. The comedy show will take place at Tropical Nites Theatre, Wild Coast Sun in KZN.
