Mel shares two children with her former husband musician, Mzwandile ‘Zwai’ Bala, the duo has been co-parenting since announcing their divorce in 2017.
Speaking to True Love, she said: “I think the secret to healthy co-parenting is that the kids must always come first. In every decision you make, you have to put your ego aside and say: What works better for them? I remember Demi Moore (after her divorce with Bruce Willis) said, ‘My kids may land up on a therapist’s couch, but it won’t be because of the divorce’.”
Recently Mel took to her Instagram page to wish her son a happy birthday as he turned 18.
