Following a highly successful 2024, it appears that Limpopo-born singer Makhadzi will reach even greater heights in 2025.
The singer achieved great success last year after she was recognised for her contribution to the art of music by being awarded the Best International Act, at last year’s BET Awards ceremony which took place in Los Angeles.
For her, this has been the ultimate reward for the work she has put in to get to that moment. In an interview with MacG and Sol on their YouTube show, Podcast & Chill with MacG, she highlighted that she needed to borrow money from loan sharks to book a business class flight to attend the awards.
Following her success abroad, she received a heroic welcome from fans upon her return home at O.R Tambo International Airport. Makhadzi was featured as the first-ever celebrity judge on the Miss South Africa pageant’s reality show, Crown Chasers, and recently hosted her first-ever One Women Show at the famous Peter Mokaba stadium in Polokwane.
With the world now just days into a brand-new year, it appears that success will undoubtedly follow her in the same way again this year.
This comes after she was nominated for Best Female Artist and Best Dancer of the Year at the 2025 Trace Awards.
The event is set to take place on the island of Zanzibar on 26th February.

In an interview with news and entertainment publication Daily Sun, the singer reflected on what these nominations meant to her.
“It feels absolutely amazing to be acknowledged in such significant categories. It reflects not only my hard work and dedication but also the support from my fans and team,” she highlighted.
She added: “I strive to convey messages of empowerment, resilience, and self-expression through my art. It’s important to me that young people know that they can chase their dreams and achieve them, no matter the challenges they face.”
