Radio presenter, DJ, Master of Ceremonies (MC), and urban culture curator – it appears as though there are officially no limits to what media personality Kyeezi can do.
Known for his vibrant personality and peculiar style when it comes to fashion and streetwear, GoodHope FM’s Khanya Siyengo, better known as the “Tall Wonder”, has done an excellent job at ensuring that he one day leaves behind a legacy in the entertainment industry.
After spending more than a decade in the radio industry, he has now dipped his toes in yet another one of his passions – television and basketball.
Kyeezi and former Big Brother Mzansi contestant Norman Nhlapo have recently been announced as the brand-new hosts of NBA Life season 2. The show is a fun and interactive programme focused on basketball, music, fashion, and some interesting discussions with guests from the world of sports and entertainment.
Speaking to BONA, Kyeezi expressed his excitement about his latest venture and the transition into television, adding that his journey on radio has not stopped, but that he continues to captivate listeners on the frequencies.
“I’m just as excited to get my daily dose of our family of listeners. With this extra opportunity, it’s really awesome for me to feel that ‘healthy kind of uncomfortable’ after all the years of being in the entertainment industry,” he explained.
“I’ve been on screen a while back so it feels like, ‘Can I still do this?’ But I know I can, and well, too. What makes it even better is that I’m hosting a show about something I genuinely love – the epic sport that is Basketball.”

As a former basketball player himself, he said that agreeing to be part of the show was the easiest decision he has had to make.
“It’s such a massive passion; it’s part of my identity. When the offer came, I didn’t ask questions. I was super stoked.
“Thirteen years ago, when I committed to being Kyeezi full time – writing down the things I wanted to do and be and turning dreams into goals – I wrote that one day I’d host a dope radio show, and I’d host a dope tv show. Thirteen years later it’s a reality.”
Despite being away, coming from the world of radio, he mentioned that the day-to-day operations of TV and radio are somewhat similar. The key to success, however, is to be well-informed, be present, understand what you need to execute and doing that to the best of your ability.
Becoming a father
Last year the radio personality took to Instagram to share the news about the birth of his firstborn. Since then, there have been several firsts for him and his young family – this included celebrating his first Father’s Day.

When asked to describe his journey as a first-time father, he simply said: “Wow! – That’s the word. My little guy is everything. Parenting is no joke, none whatsoever. It’s a real challenge, But the blessing is infinitely bigger than any challenge.”
Kyeezi desires to one day see his son proud of how hard he works.
He added: “One of many good things that I would like to impart to him is: You can be great if you are consistent in your pursuit of whatever you may want in life.”
Meanwhile, NBA Life can be watched every Sunday at 1 pm on SABC 2.
