Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, are you ready?
There are many ways people can show appreciation and love to their loved ones on this day, this includes buying them gifts and spending time together.
South African musician Dr Malinga became the talk of social media platforms after he bought his wife a car as a Valentine’s gift. While this seems like a beautiful gesture, social media users were rather not impressed because they felt robbed after Dr Malinga recently asked for donations.
A video of Dr Malinga covering his wife’s eyes as they approach a car at a dealership was shared by controversial X (previously known as Twitter) user @KabeloMohlah02. In his caption, he said, “Dr. Malinga bought his beautiful wife a beautiful car as an early Valentine’s gift.”
In the video, Dr Malinga says to his eyes-covered wife, “As you know that Valentine’s Day is our anniversary, here is a small token to show that I love and appreciate you.”
When he removed his hands from his wife’s eyes she cried, while taking her into the car he asked her not to cry. He finished off the video by thanking his followers for their continued support.

X users buzzed the comment section with questions trying to understand where he found money to buy such an expensive car yet he recently asked for donations.
Although It’s great to see Dr. Malinga back on his feet, but as someone who contributed when he needed help, this doesn’t look right. I can’t help but feel disappointed. Financial responsibility matters especially when people opened their hearts to support you in tough times.

Another user explained that as much as he was knocked down by SARS, he has always been a hustler so he does have the money.
For those who don’t know, Dr Malinga has a string of BnBs around Mpumalanga. SARS might have knocked him a bit but the man has always been a hustler
