TikTok user Ayanda ‘Tamara’ Mzimela, whose content appears to pander solely to the male gaze has taken South Africa by storm recently, particularly the KZN region. However, the creators’ loyal fanbase has started turning against her after the revelation of her old TikTok account.
TikTok has been an interesting place to browse recently as my For You page has been riddled with either Tamara’s controversial videos or the public’s commentary regarding this interesting saga. It all began when a group of male TikTok users started rallying behind Tamara’s content, citing that they felt seen and represented by the creator. These users went to the extent of donating a significant sum of money to the user, for the commendable work they believe she has done.
Her support grew exponentially in a matter of days as South African men claim they have been given a voice in matters that are often overlooked or never addressed by the women in their lives. The women on TikTok did not take kindly or lightly to Tamara’s content, labelling it as dangerous and damaging to women all over the world as the TikToker claimed that women who have children out of wedlock have lost their value, among other controversial statements.
Matters have quickly taken a turn for the worst for Tamara as the internet detectives along with her foes have uncovered her old account where she posted a plethora of interesting videos that appear to contradict her current content and stance. While she continues to post videos condemning certain women, the videos on her old profile depict her as one of these women whom she feels so strongly against.
Furthermore, the rumour mill has revealed that the popular creator is allegedly in a relationship with a man who is committed to someone else and is living with him in his house. This was again courtesy of the internet detectives who managed to put some pieces together by looking at some of her videos and matching the background and her clothes to that of fellow TikToker Lindokuhle Bala, thus concluding that the two are involved in an affair.
Interestingly, Tamara has deleted some of her videos where she was identified to be wearing clothes that matched Lindo’s, as well as videos that users believed were shot in Lindo’s house, as per the background.

Similar to what they did to the people who spoke out or attempted to call Tamara out, her supporters have now turned against their advocate, labelling her as a hypocrite as they claim that she has deceived them. Some of these users have begun demanding their donations back as they denounce Tamara, ultimately grouping her with the women she has grown popular for condemning and shaming.
Despite this saga, some of her supporters have revealed that they will remain loyal to Tamara because it is the message that they endorse, despite the messenger.
