Upon hearing the news of the death of Tsholofelo Mandisa Modise, daughter of former Minister of Defence and Military veterans, Thandi Modise, the African National Congress (ANC) issued a statement expressing their heartfelt condolences to their fellow comrade.
Tsholofelo was born in prison, while her mother was confined for her role in the liberation struggles in 1980 during the apartheid era. She is remembered by the party as a selfless and committed young leader within the movement, embodying the values of justice, equality and service to the people.
“Her unwavering dedication to the ANC and her activism in advancing the cause of the marginalised reflected the revolutionary spirit that defined her family’s legacy.”
In support of the bereaved mother, the party wrote: “The pain of losing a loved one is immeasurable, and we stand in solidarity with the Modise family as they navigate this moment of sorrow.”
The ANC urged the public to keep the Modise family in their thoughts and prayers.
