Actress and philanthropist Nomzamo Mbatha is ready to strike her best pose as she prepares herself to captivate audiences when she walks the runway in Milan.
Here, she will represent the highly esteemed local fashion house Khosi Nkosi, who, through their partnership with African Bank, will be unveiling their Legacy and Frontline collections, which feature Ankara prints and knitwear inspired by West Africa.
Speaking from the African Bank headquarters, Nomzamo described this as a full circle moment, revealing that she has always dreamed of herself being an ambassador for African fashion.
In an interview with the news and entertainment publication IOL, she said: “I was the girl who was teased for always being in African print, but sure enough those African weddings people were flocking to YDE and Khosi Nkosi. So, for us, it’s a beautiful full-circle moment, what started on African soil gets to be taken to the international ground.”
The unveiling of the new collection is set to take place at two different venues. On 1 March, the Legacy Collection will be showcased at the iconic Villa Erba in Lake Como. This will be followed by another unveiling of the African bank staff uniform called the Frontline Collection, which will be showcased at the Shangri-La Hotel in Paris.
“It speaks volumes about the audacity of African Bank – not only as a financial institution but as a brand that dares to redefine the norms. This is a moment of pride, not just for us but for every African who dares to dream,” highlights Edna Montse, African Bank’s Group Executive.
