Fast-forwarding to the present day, with MaMKhize failing to pay her dues to the South African Revenue Services (SARS), Royal AM is set to acquire new ownership, leaving Mzansi to wonder whether this could be the highly anticipated return of the mighty Siwelele it was reported that several investors were keen to acquire the club.
Taking to his X(formerly Twitter), Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture Gayton McKenzie put the public at ease by revealing that Free State football will be making a return, as a deal has been made with a group of investors. The minister revealed that a non-disclosure agreement hindered any announcements regarding this.
The minister went as far as claiming that these changes could be in effect as soon as the next PSL season, which is music to long-time supporters’ ears.
There are several prospective buyers, the auction is on Friday, the people bringing a team to Free State has basically concluded another deal and is prevented for now to announce because of signing a NDA.
