When it comes to international recognition, one thing is certain: Springbok captain Siya Kolisi is a household name.
After achieving one of the most precious things any Bok leader would dream of having – winning back-to-back Rugby World Cups – this Bok leader has had the entire world looking in the direction of South African rugby as we once again claimed our spot as a dominant force in the gentleman’s game.
While this has meant the world for our local sport back home, it has since catapulted his name as an all-time great, not just in rugby but in sport in general. It has resulted in him meeting many of the world’s top athletes in basketball, tennis as well and football.
After making several trips to Europe in recent months, if there is one place that gets him excited, it is the home of the English football club Liverpool, Anfield.
The Bok and Sharks skipper recently took to social media, where he revealed that he was back at one of his favourite stadiums.
A gallery of pictures shows him seated in the stands watching a Premier League match between Liverpool and West Ham United. Fortunately, his team won, and Siya was more than happy to be vocal about it.
Later, he can be spotted rubbing shoulders with the club’s all-time greats, including Sir Kenny Dalglish, Ian Rush, and John Barnes.
