Where there are celebrities, there are trends to be seen and followed. We share the hottest beauty and grooming hits from the awards.
Ayanda MVP
YFM’s radio presenter shows us how to have fun with an Afro. The rusty red Afro is pinned at the back and short of a parting in the front to be a complete beehive. Keep your make-up simple when your hair is a daring shade. This will keep your look clean and classy.
Boity and Cassper
Love always wins, and these two show us how. Boity looks gorgeous with her short platinum hairstyle. The hairstyle is as bold as a bald head, but it doesn’t work for everyone. She pairs her hair with a bright lip and clean face. Simplicity is essential and she nails it. Nyovest, Nyovest, Nyovest! Casper is well-groomed and looks dapper. We can’t say we miss the ponytail or blonde hair. We hope he keeps the gentleman look; works well with his beautiful lady.
Bonang Matheba
All hail Queen B as she nails another public appearance. Bonang rocks a pastel pink lip, paired with a golden eye. She finishes off the look by applying liquid liner on the top eyelid. This helps make your lashes look fuller and thick.
Nomuzi Mabena
The Mtv presenter goes for the dewy face look with perfectly arched eyebrows and a subtle lip. She finishes off the look with a lightly shaded smokey eye, which works for a daytime event.
K.O
Gone are the days when men would shave all their hair off or keep a mini Afro. Men are not afraid to explore with their image and we are loving it. Mr Cashtime trimmed off his edges and sides, leaving the top rugged. Not everyone can pull the uncombed hair look, though.
Nadia Nakai
The hip-hop rapper puts no effort into her look. The grey hair is amazing and needs a brush and styling. Her make-up is very minimal and needs more colour to let her features pop out.
Pearl Thusi
And the winner for the best in beauty goes to “mama panther” who looks breathtaking. It is great to see her Afro out to play in its wild form. It seems like a smokey eye is Pearl’s signature look, and this time around, she pairs it with a clear lip. Highlight your cheeks like Pearl to draw attention to your cheekbones.
Thembi Seete
A red lip is classical and timeless, and Thembi plays safe with it. The singer keeps her face clean with her hair tied back, leaving all the attention to the face. We love this neat and elegant approach to make-up.
Vanessa Mdee
The songstress from Tanzania is not shy when it comes to playing with colour. She wraps her purple locks into a high tie, leaving a few hanging as a side fringe. Vanessa keeps the dark look throughout her make-up, which includes purple nails and a dark liner on the rim of her eyes for a cateye.
