Advertising has changed over the years and businesses no longer have to rely only on banners, magazine or radio ads to market themselves. Social media platforms are also powerful platforms when it comes to reaching a larger market. The best part is that advertising on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram as well as other platforms wont cost you as much as you might imagine and it’s actually quite simple. We recently chatted to Allegro Dinkwanyane, Founder of the PR & Marketing agency, Orgella Media and she had these 7 tips.
1. Buy advertising space/sponsored posts on social media to promote your company or product. This can be done from as little as R16.
2. Follow businesses that you look up to and are doing well in your industry. Observe what methods they use to advertise.
3. Interact with your social media followers by responding to questions, compliments or complaints in your comments or via direct messaging/inbox.
4. Share your content strategically. Know the peak times on social media; use the right/relevant hashtags and keywords to make it easier for your business to get picked up.
5. Make sure that your bio/profile has all your contact information, especially a valid email address and telephone/mobile number that potential clients can reach you on.
6. Stay clear from drama and referring negatively to other companies as this might get you and your business in trouble.
7. Remember that it’s not just social media; the internet stores all the information that you put out so keep your pages clean.
