Being a member of an internationally acclaimed group is exciting. I get tosing and dance to packed venues across the world, and showcase our rich cultural heritage to the masses. I feel alive when I’m on stage and I’m honoured to be part of this group because it was founded by my father Professor Joseph Shabalala.

It’s exciting to be back in South Africa after touring Europe and America. We miss our family and friends when travelling abroad, this is why we always look forward to coming back home. Plus performing in our home ground is very special to us because our local fans loved us so much that they propelled us to international stages.
We are humbled to be part of centenary celebrations for the late world icon Nelson Mandela. He was a huge fan of our music and he even invited us to travel with him, giving us an opportunity to showcase ourselves across the world. It’s a pleasure to honour him and in our upcoming performance we will sing a song we dedicated to him called Long Walk to Freedom.
People should come out and have fun with us this weekend. It’s been a while since we performed in South Africa and we can’t wait to entertain our people. We are hoping that people will sing along with us and also see our growth. We look forward to it.
Catch them from the 1st until the 3rd of June at The State Theatre in Pretoria.
