The UFC’s current rankings system is set for a major overhaul.
As part of a new partnership with Meta, UFC CEO Dana White confirmed that the promotion’s rankings will be revamped using technology from Mark Zuckerberg’s company.
“We’ve already started working with Meta on a new fighter rankings system that will debut later this year,” White announced on Instagram. “Thank God.”
White has long expressed frustration with the current rankings, which have been determined by a panel of media members since their introduction in 2013. Now, the UFC appears to be shifting to AI-driven rankings, utilizing Meta’s advanced technology.
Last October, White revealed that he and Zuckerberg had discussed the idea, calling it part of “strong moves” heading into 2025.
With the UFC-Meta partnership now official, those changes are closer than ever. The move marks a significant shift in how fighters are ranked, potentially eliminating human bias in favor of data-driven rankings.
