Celebrity make-up artist Lucoh Mhlongo shares the best make-up steps to follow for winter look.
Foundation
Apply a beautiful matte, natural finish foundation that gives you just those benefits. The perfect foundation will give you coverage, a beautiful matte and moisturised finish.
Blush and cheeks
Keep your cheeks clean with no blusher to give your natural matte look more depth.
Highlight
Highlight all areas that the sun kisses with a highlighting pen or bronzer. Highlight the cheek bones, ridge of the nose, centre of your forehead and chin with a lighter shade to help contour the face. Around the areas of your face where natural shadows occur, you’ll want to use your darker shade. Once applied, blend the product into your foundation so that the end result is flawless and seamless.
Eyes
Your eyes should be left understated, with mascara being applied lightly and mainly on the upper lashes. Eyeshadows are kept to earthy hues and brown shades that add a small touch of colour.
Eyebrows
The big focus on the eyes is eyebrows and the bigger the better. Thick, natural brows are still definitely having a moment in the spotlight this year. The aim is to lightly shape and highlight them, still following the natural shape of the brow. Use a brush to brush them upwards then lightly shape the hairs diagonally from the top of the brow, following its natural shape.
Lips
When it comes to the lip, you can opt for two looks: The nude lips or stained colour, but they must always be matte.
Pick a shade of lipstick that naturally blends in with your complexion, without “washing you out or hungry look”.
