Are you finding it hard to remember what you’ve studied during your exams? According to fitness experts at Just Gym, a brand extension from the Planet Fitness group, exercising boosts the area of your brain responsible for information processing and learning. We spoke to general manager and fitness specialist, Charmaine Giani about some of the workouts you can do to help you remember what you’ve learnt:
1. Aerobics improve brain function and help repair damaged brain cells. For example running, swimming and exercising on cardio machines.
2. Jumping jacks help you recover from mental exhaustion.
3. Doing circuit workouts – performing different types of exercises within a certain period of time – will not only increase your heart rate, but also work your brain by constantly redirecting your attention.
4.Exercises that require hand and eye coordination, such as juggling, tennis and boxing, are also beneficial for brain building.
5.Doing exercises with music is good for the brain, because they incorporate coordination with cardio exercises.
