Durban based sculptor artist, Lungelo Gumede, created a life-sized wax statue of Winnie Madikizela-Mandela and Nelson Mandela which he shared on his social media pages. The life-size statues of uMam’ Winnie and uTata Mandela took Lungelo and his team 10 weeks to complete.

Lungelo’s ultimate dream is to open the first ever wax museum in South Africa and Africa at large. He has also created wax figures of the late jazz legend Hugh Masekela, as well as current SA President, Cyril Ramaphosa.
