What makes Marcus Rohrer spirulina unique?
Marcus Rohrer Spirulina® grows on the sunshine island of Hawaii. The facility is among the largest and most modern aquatic farms in the world. The basins, which are approximately 200m long, are situated on a dust-free old lava field directly adjacent to the Pacific Ocean. The seawater, which is pumped up from a depth of 2000 ft, is exceptionally clean and very rich in minerals. It contains over 90 trace elements and has not been in contact with the atmosphere for over 2500 years. No other Spirulina is grown with such a rich source of naturally occurring nutrients! Because the surroundings consist of lava rock, no dust can blow up and fall into the basins. Due to the special climate, the high level of exposure to sunlight, and the optimal composition of the water, the algae have, over the years, adapted to their environment and have continued to develop. The original species, Spirulina platensis, has given rise to the Spirulina Platensis Pacifica, which is larger, faster growing, and richer in beta-carotene. Spirulina Pacifica is not genetically modified and is cultivated according to ecological guidelines, without the use of herbicides or pesticides

Protein
Spirulina is composed of 55-65% of complete protein. This protein that provides all nine essential amino acids. In addition, the digestibility of this protein is over 80% which is rare for plant food. The digestibility of food is an indicator of how much protein will be absorbed and used in the body. makes it one of only a few plant-based sources of complete
Phycocyanin
The blue streak in spirulina comes from the pigment phycocyanin. This is a deep blue pigment that assists algae in photosynthesis by trapping light. This antioxidant compound is one of the main components of spirulina! The healthful compound has potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects on the body. And early studies have shown that it can provide protection to the liver and kidneys.
