Muvhango’s hottie and single afro soul artist Brian Temba lets us in on his hustle and tells us a little more about love.
Please tell us what the aim for the Winter Soul Jams Live concert that took place 16 July was.
I thought the concert would be a perfect way to give back to the needy. My fans got to be a part of the intimate concert. The ticket money and blankets donated at the concert will be given to a foundation I work closely with. The concert was a great opportunity to let people know more about my music. There were a few unfamiliar songs that I sang.
The concert took place in Johannesburg, which allowed fans from around Gauteng to attend. Will you be visiting other provinces to please fans across South Africa?
I do my best to reach out to all my fans. Although there has not been any discussion about expanding the Winter Soul Jams Live to other provinces, I would be happy to should we get sponsors to come on board.
For those who could not make the concert last week, what three songs would you recommend they listen to?
When it’s all said and done, Sekuyasa and Ithemba Lami.
Apart from doing music and being an actor, what else are you up to?
I have been very involved with a CSI foundation (I would rather not mention their name). The foundation helps learners from underprivileged backgrounds and disadvantaged schools.
How are you able to balance your work as an actor and musician, and make time for charity work?
It was hard to balance things in the beginning. But now I have learnt to divide my time well and separate my day to make time for different tasks.
Speak of making time, what do you get up to when you are not working?
I enjoy hanging out with my family and friends. I am not into partying, so being indoors works for me.
What do you look for in a woman?
It must be someone who fears God and has respect for people.
You are regarded as someone who knows how to speak the language of love, what would say love is to you?
Love doesn’t keep record of the wrongs – it is forgiving, patient and unconditional.
