22 year old Phemelo Kabini is a craz-e (etv) presenter on the move. We took five minutes of his time to find out more about the young man and his future plans.
HOW HAS YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH CRAZ-e BEEN?
I have been with the youth channel for two years and have enjoyed the experience I have had; it has truly been a ball of fun. I am doing something I have always dreamt of doing, I feel blessed and am humbled by this amazing opportunity.
DO YOU EVER FEEL MIS-JUDGED BECAUSE YOU WORK FOR A YOUTH CHANNEL?
Yes, working for Craz-e means a lot of eyes will be on me as I am a role model to many young people. So there is that pressure to be good. I believe it is always best that people do not judge a book by its cover, so I never think it best when people think the lowest or worst of me.
HAS PRESENTING BEEN SOMETHING YOU’VE ALWAYS WANTED TO DO, OR DO YOU HAVE ANOTHER PASSION?
I love the entertainment industry, and have a great passion for presenting as well as music. I have been backing vocalist for Kabomo and Unathi and have shared the stage with artist such as Nothende, MiCaSa and RJ Benjamin.
WHAT ADVICE DO YOU HAVE FOR PEOPLE WHO WISH TO FOLLOW IN YOUR FOOTSTEPS?
Stick to your guns; communicate your idea, goals and passion with the relevant people. Be comfortable in your own skin.
WHAT IS YOUR IDEAL DATE?
I love adventure, so I would enjoy sky diving, or anything to do with traveling or touring.
WHAT IS NEXT FOR YOU?
At the moment I am getting my degree in brand management and would like to see myself grow in that department. Although I would like to do music someday and take it seriously, at the moment I am enjoying my time as a television presenter and want to make the best of that.
